Warranty

We design the Nest and the Adaptive Profile System to survive real mountains. This page explains what we cover, what we don't, and how to get help when something isn't right.

What the Limited Warranty Covers

Outsider Skis warrants eligible skis, sold new by us or an authorized retailer, against defects in materials and workmanship for a defined period from the date of purchase. If a problem traces back to how the ski was built—not to ordinary skiing—we'll work with you on a fair fix. Exact term lengths and product classes may be finalized before the first production ship date; if they change, the terms in force at your purchase date apply.

The Outsider Power Reel and other wear parts are handled separately from the ski itself. Reel service details are coming with the first production run—until then, contact support with any question about a reel.

Who Can Make a Claim

  • Only the original retail purchaser may submit a warranty request.
  • You'll need verifiable proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation). Informal or handwritten receipts may not be enough to validate a claim.
  • Skis sold as demos, prototypes sold "as-is," or purchased second-hand are generally not eligible unless we say otherwise in writing.
  • Registering your skis when we offer registration helps us confirm ownership and reach you with service notices.

How to Start a Claim

  1. Gather clear photos of the whole ski and close-ups of the issue, plus your proof of purchase.
  2. Use our support form—it's best for uploads.
  3. We review what you send. Sometimes we need more angles, or we may ask you to send the ski in for hands-on inspection. If so, we'll give you an RMA and packing instructions. You are responsible for inbound shipping unless we agree otherwise; we usually match your service level on the way back when we ship a replacement or repaired ski.

We aim to repair when repair is the right answer. If a replacement is warranted, we'll offer the same model and length when stock allows, or a comparable current ski if yours is out of production. Warranty resolutions are not cash refunds except where required by law.

Costs we don't reimburse

We do not reimburse lift tickets, travel, lodging, rental gear, or shop labor connected to a warranty event unless we explicitly agree in writing.

What Is Not Covered

No ski is immune to physics. Damage from hard use, accidents, or the environment is not a manufacturing defect. By example and without limiting the general rule, we typically exclude:

  • Edge, base, or sidewall impact from rocks, stumps, debris, or other fixed objects.
  • Damage from racks, trams, vehicles, baggage handling, or shipping when not caused by our packing error.
  • Cosmetic bruising or chipping on top sheets or sidewalls from normal handling and skiing.
  • Improper storage, corrosion on hardware, or alterations outside our written guidance.
  • Mounting, tuning, or repair mistakes—including binding pull-outs when the pattern or torque did not follow manufacturer specs.
  • Theft, loss, vandalism, or continuing to ski on a ski you already know is compromised.
  • Normal wear, fading, or performance changes after extensive use.

Bindings and Other Brands

Alpine and touring bindings are covered only by their own manufacturer's warranty and must be installed and tested by a qualified technician on a schedule that matches binding instructions and local practice. We are not liable for injury or binding performance.
