Our name isn't just a word — it's a philosophy with three layers of meaning that guide everything we do.
Get Out There
First and most simply, Outside is about being physically outside. It's about getting out of the house, away from screens, and into the mountains. It's the reason we build skis in the first place — to give people a reason to spend more time in nature, breathing fresh air, and experiencing the world beyond four walls.
Every ski we design is an invitation to go outside.
Outside Edge: The Turn Starts Here
For skiers, Outside has a technical meaning too. The outside ski is the one you weight to carve a proper turn. It's the ski that does the work, the one that holds the edge and drives you through the arc.
When we say Outsider, we're talking about the skis people need to be on to make good turns — the foundation of confident, powerful skiing.
A Different Perspective
Outsider is about seeing things differently. It's about thinking outside the box, questioning the status quo, and building gear that doesn't follow the same old playbook.
Shane McConkey was the ultimate outsider — someone who looked at skiing from a completely different angle and changed the sport forever. That's the spirit we carry forward: innovation born from a willingness to stand apart and see what others miss.
And it's also about stepping outside your comfort zone. The best days on skis aren't the ones where everything feels safe and predictable. They're the ones where you push a little further, try something new, and discover what you're capable of. Whether it's a steeper line, deeper snow, or just a different mountain, growth happens when you step outside what's familiar.
Outside. Outside ski. Outsider.
Three meanings, one name, one mission: to keep you outside, skiing better, and pushing beyond what's comfortable.
